Phase Overview

Development Philosophy
Core Principle: Validate AI automation quality BEFORE building complex features
Key Principles:
- Quality First: Prove AKEL produces credible outputs
2. Incremental Validation: Each phase builds on proven capabilities
3. No Skipping: Must pass phase criteria before advancing
4. Honest Failure: If AI quality insufficient, improve approach - don't add manual workarounds
Success Gates
POC1 → POC2:
- ✅ Hallucination rate <10%
- ✅ Gates 1 & 4 operational
- ✅ Sufficient test articles processed
- ✅ 0 verdicts published with <2 sources
POC2 → Beta 0:
- ✅ Hallucination rate <5%
- ✅ All 4 quality gates operational
- ✅ Evidence deduplication working
- ✅ Quality metrics tracking functional
Beta 0 → V1.0:
- ✅ User testing complete with satisfactory results
- ✅ Corrections system working
- ✅ Essential security controls implemented
- ✅ Archive.org integration operational
V1.0 Launch Blockers:
- ✅ FR44: ClaimReview Schema implemented
- ✅ FR45: Complete Corrections System
- ✅ NFR11: Quality gates hardened (<5% hallucinations sustained)
